LORI One Community COVID-19 Resources

The coronavirus pandemic significantly impacts refugees and immigrants in Louisiana. Many refugees and immigrants are essential workers on the frontlines of pandemic response, in the healthcare field, as truck drivers critical to the supply chain, and as grocery store employees who keep our economy going. Majorities who work in the hospitality industry are without income due to reducing hours or furlough.

They are severely struggling to navigate the system to apply for unemployment benefits due to language barriers, lack of understanding, and familiarity with the required procedures, complicate the filing process. International students in our city have seen their funding stream affected due to the global lockdown.
