Join Us for Pan African Women’s Day
Join us as we celebrate the strength, culture, and leadership of Pan-African women. This year’s theme, “Pan-Africanism & Environmental Justice,” resonates deeply with our community as we reflect on how interconnected struggles across the African diaspora are shaped by both colonial legacies and environmental degradation.

- Face Painting for Kids: Fun and creativity for our younger attendees—everyone’s part of this celebration.
- Poetry: Enjoy powerful performances by local poets who bring to life stories of identity, struggle, and hope.
- Panel Discussion: Our thought-provoking panel discussion will explore the intersection of Pan-Africanism and environmental justice, focusing on how we can create change locally and globally.

The rich cultural tapestry of Hispanic communities will be front and center at our Hispanic Heritage Festival. With music, food, and dancing, we will embrace the colors and flavors that make the Hispanic culture so vibrant.
This festival is more than just a celebration—it’s a reminder of the shared histories and the ongoing contributions of Hispanic immigrants to the fabric of our society. Bring your family, enjoy traditional music, and taste authentic food from vendors around Louisiana. LEARN MORE
LEGAL RELATED PAROLE IN PLACE (PIP)
Take Action: Support TPS for Congo
For families displaced by the ongoing crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is more than just a legal status—it’s a lifeline. We ask your support in signing the petition to extend TPS for DRC. This policy directly impacts countless families who are facing turmoil and displacement.
Why TPS for Congo Matters: Many families have found refuge in the U.S. as a result of extreme violence and political instability in the DRC. Extending TPS provides not only a safe haven but also the opportunity for families to work, live, and contribute to their new communities without the constant fear of deportation.
Sign the Petition and help us protect these families.
These events are just a small reflection of the work LORI does throughout the year. As we continue to advocate for refugee and immigrant communities, we invite you to join us in making a difference—whether through attending events, signing petitions, donating, or volunteering. Let’s continue to stand in solidarity, lift each other up, and celebrate the cultures that enrich our lives.
Together, we are stronger. LORI CARES
